Call of Duty 4 creator mergers with Tony Hawk Pro Skater developer

Call of Duty developer and the creator of the Modern Warfare series, Infinity Ward, will merge and absorb Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Guitar Hero developer Neversoft.

The developers collaborated on Call of Duty: Ghosts, and will now join forces as Infinity Ward ramps up its involvement in the series.

"As you know, Neversoft and Infinity Ward teamed up for the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts," said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg. "And through that process, it became clear that the two studios have very complementary skill sets. Between these two excellent studios, it seemed like a single 'super-studio' could emerge."

The new studio will still be called "Infinity Ward", but, sadly, Neversoft will be no more.

"Never Ward" sounds better.
