Anyone know if you can sign up to the US version of the Nintendo estore on an Aus wiiU? Like on a PS3 or Xbox? Reason I ask is because I imagine the games will be cheaper and I also want access to netflix.

Edit: ok for anyone who wants to access any other region store that comes under PAL, it is incredibly easy.

Just go into settings and change your wii country of residence to any other PAL country.

It will then say that your current logged in account can't access Nintendo network as it doesn't match the resident country.

Then create a new mii and choose your region within that country.

Create a new NNID for that mii with a new email address.

Finish and log into that mii and you will be able to access that regions store.

    Download content.

Then change your wii u back to Australia in settings and log back into your Aus mii/NNID. You will have access to the content you downloaded from the other region!

I haven't tested buying anything on the other store using an Aus credit card so can't be sure it works. But downloading free content sure works!

So are virtual console titles actually going to be made available on the eShop at some point?

Nintendo have announced that the Wii U will have its own VC service. No specifics on which systems will be available yet though.

Oh okay, awesome! Hopefully compatible VC games bought on the Wii will be transferable to the WiiU menu. Otherwise that'd just be a total mess.
    Thanks bro!

I've just bought Sonic Racing Transformed on the eShop, thought I'd buy it on here since I don't have easy access to a game store until the weekend. Says it's a 5.8GB download. So far it's been averaging 110 kilobytes a second...

When I first got this thing online I was all excited to see what was on the eShop, holy crap was I disappointed something shocking. Ok fair enough it's day one I understand that there's not going to be much available but the could have loaded up with heaps of the old WiiWare and VC games at least. Also was borderline disgusted when i saw the prices of full new release games, I thought they would be much cheaper because there's no extra cost needed for packaging and manuals but all the games are same or more expensive than what they are in store.

Digital tends to be more expensive on all consoles. I think they continue to sell at full price to appease retailers.

Have a look at xbox live and psn. Both charge rediculously for full release games. It's so stupid but Nintendo is just doing the same as them.

I'd download games directly to the console if they were cheaper but if they are full price then I'd rather get something with it like the box and manual.

I'm picking up Trine 2 when it actually arrives here. I'm also going to pick up Little Inferno so I can review it for MMGN.

I'd be nervous about Nintendo catching onto this and blocking it somehow to prevent any further exploits. Would suck if the removed the games you bought or something similar.
