Finally, there's a new Sonic game that lives up to what Sonic used to be. Generations is probably the best Sonic game in recent years, so it's fitting that it has a Special Edition that is just as good.
First of all, here is a video of me opening my Sonic Generations Collectors Edition.
Get the Adobe Flash Player to see this video.
And, like the last couple of times, here are some photos (
many photos, you have been warned).
The box itself
The box opened up.
An awesome game replica gold ring (which are all individually numbered form "1" to "12,000". I have number "8,527").
The ring up close (large enough to see the markings).
An epic Figurine of Modern and Classic Sonic standing together.
Modern Sonic up close.
Classic Sonic up close.
A "20 Years of Sonic Music" Soundtrack (that I am listening to right now as I type this)
The Soundtrack opened up a bit (using the ring to hold it all in place)
The Soundtrack opened fully.
An art-book that showcases Sonic Highlights of the last 20 years.
Some Sonic games...
Some Sonic characters...
Some more Sonic characters...
The 3D Lenticular Cover.
... and again the other way.
The actual cover.
... and now it's open.
And here's a special Steel Tin Cover I got from work (this does not come in the Collectors Edition)
... and here it is opened.
And finally, the Collectors Edition came with some special DLC (An extra level, an XBOX Sonic Theme, and a special outfit for your avatar...).
Awesome!
Overall, this is a great Collectors Edition, especially if you are a long time Sonic fan (like myself). The figurine looks great, the CD has dome great songs on it, the Gold Ring is epic, and the game is actually good too! It is expensive (mine was $170 AUD), but if you have the extra money that you don't mind spending, it's a great deal.
